Product updates
Aster Pro is available as a notarized beta download. Aster Editor is still awaiting public Mac App Store availability.
Aster Pro 0.0.1
The first direct-download beta is available for macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. The app is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple.
Pro remains locked until activated with proof of a one-time Aster Editor unlock purchase. The Editor App Store listing is not publicly available yet, so activation may not currently be possible for new users. See the download and activation notes.
Aster Editor
Editor is the simpler of the two apps: a place to open files, write, and find your way around a project without IDE tools in the way.
- Native text editing with tabs, syntax highlighting, Quick Open, and find and replace.
- A visual undo history that keeps alternate edits when you change direction.
- Local recovery for unsaved work and a formatter for JSON.
- Themes, configurable shortcuts, and a Vim-inspired editing mode.
Aster Pro (beta)
Pro shares the editor and adds the tools you need for supported development projects.
- Integrated terminals and build, run, and test actions for supported projects.
- Code help from language servers you install or configure.
- Debugging through LLDB and other supported adapters.
- A local activation flow designed to use proof of an Aster Editor purchase.
Still to verify
We still need to verify activation end to end with a real App Store purchase and test the supported toolchains on more systems. Pro activation is not represented as tested until that check is complete.
